Michel Gondry – The master of the music video.

Posted on October 31, 2010

As The Green Hornet is due to hit our screens this January, I thought it might be a good time to look back over the brilliant work of Michel Gondry.

Michel Gondry might be an Academy Award winning director, best known perhaps for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, but to me it is his incredible talent as a music video director that really stands out.

Almost all of my favourite videos, with some notable exceptions by Chris Cunningham, are directed by Gondry. Some are now iconic, others are simply breathtakingly cool, but all are distinctly memorable.

So, enough from me. Here’s a few of my personal favourites:

Human Behaviour – Bjork

 Protection – Massive Attack

Like A Rolling Stone – The Rolling Stones

Sugar Water – Cibo Matto

Around The World – Daft Punk

 Everlong – Foo Fighters

The Music Sounds Better With You – Stardust

Let Forever Be – Chemical Brothers

Knives Out – Radiohead

Fell In Love With A Girl – The White Stipes

 Star Guitar – Chemical Brothers

Come Into My World – Kylie Minogue

 Ride – The Vines

The Denial Twist – The White Stripes
